About Us

Bistro 19 is located adjacent of the York County Judicial Center in the buildings formally known as Fisher's Restaurant and MB & Company. Restaurateurs' Troy Sweitzer and Ryan McKinley believe the third time is the charm with this historic location and redeveloped area of York City. The name comes from the French word "bistro" which means, "A restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting." The number nineteen is depicted in the front stain glass window of the building.

We will be offering American/French cuisine in an elegant casual atmosphere offering a menu of dishes to delight the fussiest of palates and wallets. We have a great selection of wines and spirits. In addition, the bar area has been upgraded with Flat Panel TV's and the restaurant is open for Sunday Brunch.

We believe in York CIty and the redevelopment that has been going on in the past five years, and we believe the community supported the past restaurants that tenanted these buildings. We will be honoring MB & Company gift cards purchased during their five months of operation starting June 1, 2009 Until September 15, 2009.  Our system will allow us to verify those cards, so don't throw them out. This is our contribution to the national bail out plan.

Bistro 19 is committed to serving only the finest foods, made with the freshest ingredients. All of our dishes are made from scratch. Our inviting decor and professional servers create a memorable dining experience.

We invite you to come and enjoy a true elegant casual dining experience.

Executive Chef/Owner Troy Sweitzer has been serving his unique brand of upscale American cuisine in the central Pennsylvania area for over fifteen years. Working for both small family operations such as Casa Rillo’s in Camp Hill, PA and prestigious fine dining locations such as Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center as well as the Conestoga Country Club, Chef Sweitzer has a proven knack for combining decadent flavors with elegant presentation.

Graduating from Baltimore’s International Culinary College (as well as an esteemed apprenticeship with Sedona Arizona’s famed Enchantment Resort) has clearly given Chef Sweitzer’s dishes the ability to infuse cross-cultural flavors into a wide array of accessible dishes.

This culinary style is a match made in heaven with the environment and spirit of Bistro 19. It is our mission to make our guests feel as though they are at home, and to offer them cuisine that is a feast for both the eyes and the appetite. Chef Sweitzer and his experienced, accomplished staff look forward to making sure your first visit will only be one of many.
